FOR FAMILIES
Lost your home in the fire?
Tell us a little about your family and what’s on everyone’s wish list. We’ll match you with a neighbor who wants to make this Christmas a good one.
FOR DONORS
Want to help a neighbor?
Adopt a whole family and shop their wish list, or drop off new, unwrapped gifts and gift cards. Every gift goes to a Spokane family rebuilding after the fire.
HOW IT WORKS
From wish list to Christmas morning
01
Families apply
Fill out the application below or pick up a paper copy at our Home Idea Show booth.
02
We confirm eligibility
Our team checks your prior address and one document, then reaches out by phone or email.
03
Donors adopt
A donor is matched with your family and shops the wish list. Donors see first names and wishes only, never your address.
04
Gifts go home
Gifts are due by December 21. We’ll contact families to pick up at our Spokane Valley office from December 14th – December 21st.
ELIGIBILITY
Who can apply
- Your family lost its primary residence in the Spokane Complex Fire (Old Trails, Autumn Lane or Fairview fire, August 2026). Renters and homeowners both qualify.
- You currently live in the Spokane area. Temporary housing counts.
- One application per household, submitted by an adult (18+) in the home.
- Applications are accepted through November 27th or until all spots are filled.
How we confirm your address
To keep gifts going to families who were affected, we ask for any one of these showing the address you lost:
- FEMA or Washington State disaster assistance letter
- Insurance claim letter for fire loss
- American Red Cross or other relief agency letter
- Utility bill, lease, rental agreement or mortgage statement dated before Aug 1, 2026
Your privacy matters. Cover any account numbers before you send it. Documents are used only to confirm eligibility and deleted when the drive ends. We never ask for Social Security numbers, immigration status or income. Rather not upload? Show it to us in person at our office or booth.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Three ways to give
Adopt a family
We’ll match you with a family and send their first names, ages, sizes and wish list. Great for coworkers, churches, teams and neighbors pooling together.
Donate new, unwrapped gifts
Toys for kids and teens, and gifts the whole family can enjoy. Unwrapped lets us match each gift to the right family.
Give gift cards
Grocery, gas and big-box store cards help families replace everyday essentials they lost in the fire.

Questions
Who sees my family's information?
Only Cline’s staff running the drive. Your donor sees first names, ages, sizes, your short story and wish list. Never your last name, address, phone or documents.
Why do you ask for proof of residence?
So every gift reaches a family that lost their home in the fire. One document is enough, and it’s deleted when the drive ends.
Can I choose which family to adopt?
Tell us your preferences on the sign-up form and we’ll do our best to match you. Families are matched in the order donors sign up.
I can't make it to the Home Idea Show. Can I still give?
Yes. Drop gifts and gift cards at our office, 15916 E Sprague Ave in Spokane Valley, any time before December 21.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
No. Cline’s is a local business, not a nonprofit, so gifts given through this drive aren’t tax-deductible.
